
Hannah Hawkinberry earned her bachelor’s degree in legal studies from the University of Central Florida. While earning her undergraduate degree, she worked for two years as a legal assistant with the Juvenile Division of the Office of the Public Defender, Ninth Judicial Circuit, where she gained early hands-on experience in criminal defense and juvenile law.
Hannah continued her education, earning her J.D from Barry University School of Law. During law school, Hannah served on the Moot Court Honors Board, where she refined her oral advocacy and litigation skills. She also served as a member of the Juvenile Defense Clinic, where she gained hands-on courtroom experience representing clients and advocating on behalf of juveniles within the legal system.
Hannah began her legal career as a prosecutor with the State Attorney’s Office for Florida’s 12th Judicial Circuit. During her two years with the office, she managed a demanding, high-volume caseload and handled numerous hearings, motions, and trials involving DUI, domestic violence battery, and a wide range of criminal offenses. Her courtroom experience provided her with extensive trial advocacy skills and a comprehensive understanding of criminal procedure, case strategy, and the inner workings of the criminal justice system.
While serving as a prosecutor, Hannah also taught classes to new law enforcement cadets focused on investigating domestic violence cases, including evidence collection, victim interviews, and case preparation.
Hannah is a member of the Manatee County Bar Association, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and DUI Defense Lawyers Association.
