Can you discuss some of your success in using science to defend Florida DUI cases?
Answer: That’s kind of a tough question, because it’s different in different cases. It’s a lot. But I would say that when you can attack it from the collection, the storage, or the analytical testing, it can help us either get the sample thrown out, get the case thrown out, get a better deal for our clients. And that happens frequently. There is a belief that blood testing is the most reliable form of testing out there and the hardest types of test to get questioned. I’m of the opinion, with my training, that those are actually our easier tests to get thrown out or our easier tests to call questions in, because there’s a lot more room for error.
